  1. My reactions would be kind of really scared because what if another khmer soldier just came out of nowhere and started to chase you. Some superstitions i have heard of is about aliens.

  2. I think that is pretty creepy that she, being the curious girl she is, poked the body and gets pink eye. I really don't believe in any superstitions. I think superstitions are very far fetched. For example, many black cats have "crossed my path" and nothing has happened to me because of that.

I would have been really freaked out about seeing a dead khmer rouge soldier near me because that must mean they're somewhere near. I don't believe in any superstitions but I've heard if you break a mirror you get bad luck but I don't believe in that.

  4. I honestly think I would spit on his face. I understand the anger Loung had for them and if releasing that anger meant taking it out on the dead Khmer to keep her sane, go for it. I wouldn't touch the dead body for the simple fact that I'm not sure what disease could erupt for the deceased. One superstition I've heard of is to never sweep your feet for fear of never getting married. I highly doubt the broom has the ability to determine eligibilty for marriage, but this WAS created centuries ago so I understand.

  5. I would be definitely sickened and frightened by seeing a rotten corpse of a Khmer Rouge soldier. I doubt that she got the red eye disease by poking the dead body, she was probably sick and without medicine it spread to Chou and Kim. I don't believe in superstitions. I have heard of several superstitions, those including if you step on a crack, you break your mother's back. When I was younger, I use to believe in superstitions but I have gotten older to realize that, they are false.

  7. In my Italian culture, people think someone gave you the evil eye and that is why you don't feel or look well. I find that many cultures around the world share the same superstitions, one way or another. Loung, obviously grew up with many superstitions from her family and her cultural background.

  12. I would be too scared to even go near the body. I'd probably think there are more soldiers around the area and run away.
I don't believe in most superstitions now, but when I was younger I used to believe if you stepped on a crack you'd break your mother's back.

  13. I don't think she got the red eye thing from the dead body. but they could have been other things she could have gotten from it. Cause all we know it can be pink eye so something. But we can't really know expect if we find out.

  14. I don't believe Loung caught red eye disease from the dead body, i think its just a disease going around. When you have alot of dead bodies decaing around you and you don''t keep your body clean and healthy your most likely possible of catching something in a situation like that.

  15. I think that she was not thinking when she touched the khmer rouge soldier. If I were in her position I would have just moved from it because now she got the pink eye

  16. If I would of seen a dead khmer rouge body I would of kicked it, yet it might of been a trap of some sort either way its a dead body it wont do no good. I never heard of a red eye disease though I have to tell you it sounds really horriable to catch and have.

  17. I dont believe Loung had contracted the red eye disease from the Khmer Rouge corpse.
The disease was probably carried on by some other way, considering the situation she was in.

  18. IF I where see a dead corpse of a Khmer Rouge soldier I will be so scared and freak out of seeing a dead corpse. and I dont believe in those superstitions things because I think that they just make them up.

  19. I think when she touched the Khemer Rouge soldier it was one of those actions that just happens. That disease seems like something just going around. Also have to be careful their could be a freash dead body next thing you know theirs a soldier in the same area.

  20. I believe in superstitions but I think she got red eye was maybe she poked the body and maybe then put her hand on her face. Or she could be right, who knows. One superstition i believe in is "don't open a umbrella inside a room". I hate when people do that but one superstition that I don't care about is "bad luck if a black cat pass you"; i like cats not matter the color.

I would go nowhere near that body. Though I might say that it was what the Khmer Rouge soldier deserved but at no time would I go near or TOUCH the body. I've heard many superstitious sayings( if you break a mirror you get seven years bad luck...) do I believe them? No I do not...

  22. I definitely think that her curiosity to look and poke at the Khmer Rouge soldier is something I wouldn't do.I'm not much of a person who believes in many superstitions.

  23. I think she got red eye since the water is dirty already, but the dead body made has germs of course, so touching it was a BAD idea. I dont think it's just a superstition. She touched a dirty dead body and most likely touched her eyes after.

  24. My reaction is that since she saw the dead soldier that's a sign that things are falling back in place and things will be over soon enough. I do belive in bad luck because it happened to my friend for like 2 weeks straight so anything i say like "i never got hurt yet" i would knock on wood which takes away the bad luck

  25. my reaction to this scene is that if i found a dead person i would like to know what happened to him. i would of moved him and tried to check his wounds to try and figure out what happened to him and i think thats what Loung was doing. One superstition i belive in is karma. I belive what you do, life would give it you better or worse.

  26. I kept thinking there would be more solders. I'm not sure I would drink the water after the body was in it. When I threw my perfect game noone would say anything about it.

    2. What superstitions do you believe in or have heard of?

My reactions of this scene are that its terrible to see a dead person, but if you do you have to try your best by draining that image out of your body, but if you get sick from it, everything you do reminds you of the horrifying image. i don't believe in any superstitions, but i have heard of having like pregame rituals before a big basketball game.
